THE BUILD
Honda meets Tesla.
I acquired this 1995 Honda Civic around 11 or 12 years ago from a friend who was going through hard times and needed the money. At the time, I did not really know what direction the car would take.
When I got my Tesla in 2017, that direction started to become clear. I quickly came to believe that electric vehicles were the future and became deeply involved with Teslas. Swapping the Honda to electric felt like a fitting way to bring my Honda-building background and my growing interest in Tesla together.
That idea became EGEV: a 1995 Honda Civic with a Tesla electric swap. The build journal follows the motor installation and engine-bay layout, diagnostic work, suspension and brake components, fabrication, and wheel fitment. It records the work behind the conversion from the car as we bought it through its workshop development.
